It is with great pleasure that I bring you “Whipped,” the first taste off Moon Bounce’s upcoming album, Darn Your Best Frock. The video is a three and a half minute acid trip through the far out lands of the midwest, directed by Jorge Haro.
“Whipped” is one of the hardest secrets I’ve ever had to keep, trying hard not to bump it too hard in my earbuds. A sexy blend of trip hop and dream pop, Moon Bounce keeps it sexy and sophisticated. Starting with a nu-jazzy piano intro and transforming into a smooth stream of psychedelic ambience, Moon Bounce has left me “Whipped.”

I met Work Drugs through the wonderful world of Twitter this year, when a follow led to a friendship. The Philadelphia chillwave duo (occasionally trio) snuck onto one of my playlists in January and after having “Third Wave” on repeat, I got a surprise follow from @workdrugsmusic. Needless to say, Work Drugs’ dream pop has been making waves all over the interwebs, and are nearing the end of free downloads on their Bandcamp. Watching music videos may be one of my favorite hobbies, coming in a close second to drinking iced coffee. I like to set aside time to do nothing but watch one awesome music video after the next, preferably on Thursday nights.
This past week, I ran into the video* for the hidden gem “Mind Reader” featuring Shyvonne, which I first heard on Jamie XX’s in the Mix for Benji B on Radio 1. Come to find out, Kingdom is not only the master behind this ultra 90′s dance jam, but is also the visual artist behind this tripped out video produced in conjunction with Scion A/V.
My new found appreciation for mornings has given me a reason to create morning playlists that I would had never made had it not been for my first (and hopefully last) 8am class. Star Slinger’s first official video, “Mornin’” is directed by Alan Jensen (aka Ghostclatter) and is the first track off Star Slinger’s first full-length album Volume 1 on Bandcamp.
